Song Sheet October 12th
Entrance Hymn: Healing River of the Spirit
Healing river of the spirit, bathe the wounds that living brings. Plunge our pain, our sin, our sadness deep beneath your sacred springs. Weary from the restless searching that has lured us from your side, We discover in your presence peace the world cannot provide.
Well-spring of the healing Spirit, stream that flows to bring release. As we gain ourselves, our senses, may our lives reflect your peace. Grateful for the flood that heals us, may your church enact your grace. As we meet both friend and stranger, may we see our Savior’s face.
Living stream that heals the nations, make us channels of your power. All the world is torn by conflict; Wars are raging at this hour. Saving spirit, move among us, guide our winding human course, till we find our way together, flowing homeward to our source.
Offertory Hymn: Whatsoever You Do
(Refrain) Whatsoever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me.
When I was hungry, you gave me to eat; When I was thirsty, you gave me to drink. (To Refrain)
When I was homeless, you opened your door; When I was naked, you gave me your coat. (To Refrain)
When I was weary, you helped me find rest; When I was anxious, you calmed all my fears. (To Refrain)
When in a prison, you came to my cell; When on a sickbed, you cared for my needs. (To Refrain)
When I was laughed at, you stood by my side; When I was happy, you shared in my joy. (To Refrain)
Communion Hymn: Now We Remain
(Refrain) We hold the death of the Lord deep in our hearts. Living, now we remain with Jesus, the Christ.
Once we were people afraid, lost in the night. Then by your cross we were saved. Dead became living, life from your giving.(To Refrain)
Something which we have known, something we've touched, what we have seen with our eyes: this we have heard, life giving Word.(To Refrain)
He chose to give of himself, became our bread. Broken that we might live. Love beyond love, pain for our pain.(To Refrain)
We are the presence of God; This is our call. Now to become bread and wine: food for the hungry,
life for the weary, for to live with the Lord, we must die with the Lord.(To Refrain)
Recessional Hymn: Now Thank We All Our God
Now thank we all our God with heart, and hands and voices, who wondrous things hath done, in whom his world rejoices; Who, from our mother’s arms hath blessed us on our way with countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.
O may this gracious God through all our life be near us, with ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us; Preserve us in his grace, and guide us in distress, and free us from all sin, till heaven we possess.
All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given, the Son, and Spirit blest, who reigns in highest heaven, Eternal, Triune God, whom earth and heaven adore; For thus it was, is now, and shall be, evermore.
