Song Sheet January 1st

Entrance: Sing of Mary

Sing Of Mary, Pure And Lowly, Virgin Mother Undefiled, Sing Of God’s Own Son Most Holy, Who Became Her Little Child.

Fairest Child Of Fairest Mother, God The Lord Who Came To Earth, Word Made Flesh, Our Very Brother, Takes Our Nature By His Birth.

Sing Of Jesus, Son Of Mary, In The Home At Nazareth. Toil And Labor Cannot Weary, Love Enduring Unto Death.

Constant Was The Love He Gave Her, Though He Went Forth From Her Side, Forth To Preach, And Heal, And Suffer, Till On Calvary He Died.

Glory Be To God The Father, Glory Be To God The Son; Glory Be To God The Spirit, Glory To The Three In One.

From The Heart Of Blessed Mary, From All Saints The Song Ascends, And The Church The Strain Re-Echoes Unto Earth’s Remotest End.

Offertory: On This Day, O Beautiful Mother

(Refrain) On this day, O beautiful Mother, On this day we give thee our love.

Near thee, Madonna, fondly we hover, Trusting thy gentle care to prove.

On this day we ask to share, Dearest Mother, thy sweet care;

Aid us, ere our feet astray Wander from thy guiding way. (To Refrain)

Queen of Angels, deign to hear Lisping children's humble pray'r;

Young hearts gain, O Virgin pure, Sweetly to thyself allure.(To Refrain)

Communion: Away in a Manger

Away in a manger no crib for a bed, The little lord Jesus laid down his sweet head. The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay, The little lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing the baby awakes, But little lord Jesus no crying he makes. I love you lord Jesus; look down from the sky, And stay by my side until morning is nigh.

Be near me lord Jesus I ask you to stay, Close by me for ever, and love me, I pray. Bless all the dear children in thy tender care, And fit us for heaven, to live with you there.

2nd Communion: It Came Upon the Midnight Clear

It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth

to touch their harps of gold: “Peace on the earth, good will to all From heaven's all-gracious King,” The world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing

Still through the cloven skies they come, with peaceful wings unfurled, and still their heavenly music floats over all the weary world: Above its sad and lowly plains they bend on hovering wing, and ever over its babel-sounds the blessed angels sing

And ye, beneath life's crushing load, whose forms are bending low, who toil along the climbing way with painful steps and slow, Look now! for glad and golden hours come swiftly on the wing:

O rest beside the weary road and hear the angels sing.

For lo,the days are hastening on, by prophet bards foretold, when with the ever-circling years comes ’round the age of gold; When peace shall over all the earth its ancient splendors fling,

And all the world give back the song which now the angels sing.

Recessional: Good Christian Friends Rejoice

Good Christian friends, rejoice with heart and soul and voice; give ye heed to what we say: Jesus Christ is born today. Ox and ass before him bow, and he is in the manger now. Christ is born today! Christ is born today!

Good Christian friends, rejoice with heart and soul and voice; now ye hear of endless bliss: Jesus Christ was born for this! He has opened heaven's door, and we are blest forevermore. Christ was born for this! Christ was born for this!

Good Christian friends, rejoice with heart and soul and voice; now ye need not fear the grave: Jesus Christ was born to save! Calls you one and calls you all to gain his everlasting hall. Christ was born to save! Christ was born to save!
