Song Sheet February 15th

Entrance: O God Our Help in Ages Past

O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Our shelter from the stormy blast, And our eternal home.

Before the hills in order stood, Or earth received her frame, From everlasting, thou art God, To endless years the same.

A thousand ages, in thy sight, Are like an evening gone; Short as the watch that ends the night, Before the rising sun.

Time, like an ever rolling stream, Soon bears us all away; We fly forgotten, as a dream Dies at the opening day.

Offertory: Prayer of St. Francis

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred let me bring your love, Where there is injury your pardon Lord, And where there's doubt true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace, Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope, Where there is darkness, only light, And where there's sadness, ever joy.

O Master grant that I may never seek, So much to be consoled as to console, To be understood as to understand, To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, In giving of ourselves that we receive. And in dying that we're born to eternal life.

Communion: Eye Has Not Seen

(Refrain)Eye has not seen, ear has not heard what God has ready for those who love him; Spirit of love, come, give us the mind of Jesus, teach us the wisdom of God.

When pain and sorrow weigh us down, be near to us, O Lord, forgive the weakness of our faith, and bear us up within your peaceful word. (To refrain)

Our lives are but a single breath, we flower and we fade, yet all our days are in your hands, so we return in love what love has made. (To refrain)

To those who see with eyes of faith, the Lord is ever near, reflected in the faces of all the poor and lowly of the world. (To refrain)

Recessional: Lord You Give the Great Commission

Lord, you give the great commission: “Heal the sick and preach the word.” Lest the church neglect its mission and the gospel go unheard, Help us witness to your purpose with renewed integrity; With the Spirit’s gifts empowers us for the work of ministry.

Lord, you call us to your service: “In my name baptize and teach.” That the world may trust your promise, life abundant meant for each, Give us all new fervor, draw us closer in community: With the Spirit’s gifts empowers us for the work of ministry.

Lord, you make the common holy: “This my body, this my blood.” Let us all, for earth’s true glory, daily lift life heavenward, asking that the world around us share your children’s liberty: With the Spirit’s gifts empowers us for the work of ministry.

Lord, you show us love’s true measure: “Father, what they do, forgive.” Yet we hoard as private treasure all that you so freely give. May your care and mercy lead us to a just society: With the Spirit’s gifts empowers us for the work of ministry.

Lord, you bless with words assuring: “I am with you to the end.” Faith and hope and love restoring, may we serve as you intend and, amid the cares that claim us, hold in mind eternity: With the Spirit’s gifts empowers us for the work of ministry.
