Song Sheet August 3rd

Entrance Hymn: For the Beauty of the Earth

For the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies, for the love which from our birth over and around us lies: Lord of all, to you we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the beauty of each hour, of the day and of the night, hill and vale, and tree and flower, sun and moon, and stars of light: Lord of all, to you we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent, child. Friends on earth and friends above; For all gentle thoughts and mild: Lord of all, to you we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

Offertory Hymn: Eye Has Not Seen

(Refrain)Eye has not seen, ear has not heard what God has ready for those who love him; Spirit of love, come, give us the mind of Jesus, teach us the wisdom of God.

When pain and sorrow weigh us down, be near to us, O Lord, forgive the weakness of our faith, and bear us up within your peaceful word. (To refrain)

Our lives are but a single breath, we flower and we fade, yet all our days are in your hands, so we return in love what love has made. (To refrain)

To those who see with eyes of faith, the Lord is ever near, reflected in the faces of all the poor and lowly of the world. (To refrain)

Communion Hymn: One Bread One Body

(Refrain) One bread, one body, one Lord of all, one cup of blessing which we bless. And we, though many, throughout the earth, we are one body in this one Lord.

Gentile or Jew, servant or free, woman or man, no more. (To refrain)

Many the gifts, many the works, one in the Lord of all. (To refrain)

Grain for the fields, scattered and grown, gathered to one, for all. (To refrain)

Recessional Hymn: O God Our Help in Ages Past

O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Our shelter from the stormy blast, And our eternal home.

Before the hills in order stood, Or earth received her frame, From everlasting, thou art God, To endless years the same.

A thousand ages, in thy sight, Are like an evening gone; Short as the watch that ends the night, Before the rising sun.

Time, like an ever rolling stream, Soon bears us all away; We fly forgotten, as a dream Dies at the opening day.
