CLINT BREAUX

  • My name is Clint Breaux and I married to Destiny Breaux. We have three children—Ellie, Aussie, and Benjamin. We have been parishioners at Sacred Heart since 2016. I have worked in the financial service industry for the last 15 years.

  • Over the years, we have been actively involved in various areas of the parish including leading various small groups and serving on the media team. Our favorite weekend of the year is Broussard Community Fair where we head the nacho booth.

  • Sacred Heart is more than a building—it is a vibrant community of people with individual gifts and talents all working together through a common purpose, Jesus. It is important to me that this community stays vibrant in the years ahead for my own children and the many families that fill our pews.

  • The mission of Sacred Heart is truly a cornerstone of my families life. I believe that no matter where you come from or the challenges that you have faced, God meets you where you are and loves you the same. Jesus was a “fisher of men” and the importance of his work lives within this mission. My family was embraced by the community of Sacred Heart all those years ago and feeling welcomed was the very first step in growing my faith and allowing me to lead my family. I hope that in my service I am familiar and friendly face just the same.

THOMAS LOUSTALOT

  • I am a cradle Catholic and a happily married father of two girls. I was born in New Orleans, grew up in Houston, graduated from UL and work as a Project Manager at a local Architecture company.

  • I am a frequent small group leader and participant. I volunteer for Catholic Charities “Homeless to Housewarmed” projects and serve on the Freedom retreat team as well as the Confirmation Leadership Team.

  • Luke 12:48 reminds us to faithfully use the gifts and opportunities God has given to them. Serving on a church council is one way to steward those blessings by guiding and supporting our church’s mission. It will be a privilege to serve others and help strengthen the body of Christ.

  • This mission comes directly from the Great Commission in Matthew 28 and according to 1 Peter 3:15, believers should always be ready to give a reason for the hope within them, doing so with gentleness and respect. Encountering Jesus forms the foundation of faith, while becoming missionary disciples is the response.

Jewell West

  • I have been a long time member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. We have just moved back to Broussard after living in Tallahassee for ten years helping to raise our grand twins. • I believe our mission is follow in Christ's footsteps and help others to do the same.

Ashley Bahry

  • Born and raised in South Louisiana, Ashley graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in accounting. After living and working out of state and abroad for several years, she moved to Broussard in 2024 and enjoys being involved in and serving her local community.

  • Ashley’s involvement in the church parish includes attending Mass, partaking of the sacraments, and actively participating in small groups, all of which are an important part of her faith life. Ashley is also actively involved in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Becoming Catholic Ministry (OCIA), where she supports and accompanies those who are learning about and preparing to enter the Catholic faith.

  • Ashley views this opportunity to serve on the Parish Council as a privilege because she cares about her parish and would like to help it be a place where people feel welcomed and supported. Ashley is willing to listen, pitch in where needed, and help make practical decisions that benefit the whole community.

  • Ashley views our mission of “encountering Jesus and becoming missionary disciples” as important. Ashley strives for a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ and seeks opportunities to support her parish community grow in faith and become disciples who share His love with others.

Annie Cormier

  • A graduate of USL with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, I have spent the majority of my career in the medical field, on the hospital side and now the educational side. I have been married to my best friend for 35 years. God blessed us with two wonderful children, Zachary (32) and Elleanor (24). Through marriage, our son gave us a bonus daughter, Hailey, and our first grand baby Cooper Joseph (9 months). "You will love empty nesting," they said. NOPE, its not for me.

  • Our family moved to SHJ from St. Pius when Fr. Michael arrived. Since then, I have served in various roles within the Hands and Feet Committee, Support Team, and Welcoming Committee—even before they were formally named. I have also humbly served as a Eucharistic minister since 2020. Throughout the years, I have participated in numerous small groups. Alpha (3 times) and Freedom remain at the top of my list.

  • Every perspective matters. Being able to assist and be a part of ensuring that all opinions, comments, suggestions, and/or questions of our community are heard, considered, and vetted, is precisely how we serve one another. It is in this service, where we encourage each other to become the best version of ourselves, both individually and collectively, in support of our parish.

  • A mission statement is simply words until it is put into practice. I believe that when we view "our mission" as "His mission", we see, hear, and treat others as we are called to. And while we encounter Jesus through Scripture and in prayer, true transformation, both in ourselves and in others, happens when we live out "His mission" through discipleship.

M. Kevin Carrier

  • I am originally from Eunice and am the youngest of twelve children, raised in a large Catholic family. That upbringing instilled in me a deep sense of faith, community, and service that continues to guide me today. I am blessed with five children and two wonderful stepchildren, and family remains a central part of my life. Professionally, I have worked as a Wealth Manager and Financial Advisor for the past 31 years, gaining valuable experience in financial planning, stewardship, and responsible decision-making. Outside of my professional and parish life, I am an active kayak angler, which I enjoy as a way to spend time outdoors and stay connected to the natural beauty of our area.

  • I became a member of Sacred Heart Parish in 2022 after moving to Broussard. Prior to that, I was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish for over 25 years. Throughout my time in both parishes, I have remained actively involved in parish life, serving as a Lector and participating in small group gatherings. My faith has continued to grow through experiences such as attending my first Freedom Retreat three years ago. Since then, I have served on the Prayer Team for the retreat for the past two years and will be serving again this year. I also stay engaged in the parish community by attending events such as Church Fairs, Lenten Missions, KPC Donuts after Mass, and many other parish functions. These experiences have helped deepen my connection to the parish and strengthened my desire to serve more fully within the community.

  • Over the past four years as a parish member, I have witnessed the active presence and movement of the Holy Spirit within this community. That experience has inspired me to seek a more active role in serving the parish. I bring with me a strong foundation of faith along with prior leadership experience, including serving as a Church Council Member at St. Elizabeth Seton, President of the Lafayette Airport Commission, a member of the St. Leo School Board, and a member of the Lafayette Education Foundation, among other organizations. In addition to my commitment to service, I hope to contribute my professional background by offering financial and investment insight to support the council’s decisions. I would be honored to serve and help further strengthen the mission and growth of our parish.

  • Our mission of “encountering Jesus and becoming missionary disciples” is deeply important to me because it speaks to both a personal and outward journey of faith. My own relationship with Christ has been strengthened through meaningful encounters in prayer, the sacraments, and experiences within the parish, such as the Freedom Retreat and ongoing community involvement. These moments have helped shape who I am and continue to guide how I live my life. At the same time, being a missionary disciple calls me to go beyond myself—to live out my faith through service, witness, and authentic relationships with others. It is about sharing the love of Christ not only within the parish, but also in everyday life with family, friends, and the broader community. This mission resonates with me because it is both transformational and purposeful. It challenges me to keep growing in faith while also encouraging others on their own journey, helping to build a stronger, more Christ-centered parish community.
