CONGRATULATIONS, SISTER CARM!

This weekend we celebrate the gift of 50 years of Religious Life through Sr. Carmelita Latiolais, S.E.C. A member of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Covenant, she has been a generous minister of God’s love to our community and many other people during her time in religious life. May God continue to bless her.

Special thanks to all of you who joined in making this Celebration so special.

All parishioners, families and friends are invited to a Mass celebrating Sister Carmelita Latiolais’ 50th Anniversary in Religious Life on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. followed by a reception in the Parish Life Center. Sr. Carm has served as a Pastoral Associate at Sacred Heart since 2006.

St. Cecilia Gala - Saturday, September 11, 2010

A wonderful, fun-filled evening to support our St. Cecilia School. Tickets for the September 11 Gala, to be held at River Ranch, are $100 per person and will be on sale after all Masses this weekend. Plan now to come and join us!

SCS Gala Tickets are being sold after Mass on Au- gust 14-15th & Aug. 28-29th. Tickets are $100 each and will benefit the SCS Capital Improvements

Nocturnal Adoration

Each month on the eve of the First Friday, we offer all night adoration of the Holy Eucharist in Church until NOON on Friday concluding with Benediction. Please come and make a Holy Hour sometime during this night. Make a sacrifice to the Lord for you and your family by praying a holy hour.

CCD Registration

Early registration is now being accepted. Families who are presently in the program have received their registration forms through their CCD classes. They may turn in the form without the money and pay later. Forms may be picked up in the back of Church or in the front office and turned in at the Office. Registration will close on August 19, 2010. Price as of June 22, 2010 1 Child $55, 2 Children $60, 3 or more Children $65.

RCIA Information

Each year at Sacred Heart, we welcome new members to our faith community through the RCIA process. This process involves learning about the Catholic Faith and taking part in a Spiritual Journey that seeks to help all grow in faith. This process is for any adult wishing to find out more about the church and for those adults wishing to join the church and receive sacraments of Baptism or Confirmation. Prayer for Hurricane Season

O God, Master of this passing world,
hear the humble voices of your children.
The sea of Galilee obeyed your order and
returned to its former quietude; you are
still the Master of land and sea. We live
in the shadow of danger over which we
have no control: the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant,
can awake from its seeming lethargy, invade our land and
spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we
turn to you, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies
whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem
to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of
the Sea, our beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your
Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common
to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude,
we will walk in the footsteps of Your Divine Son to reach
the Heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits
us. Amen .

Sacred Heart Pligrimage to the Holy Land
November 27 - December 10, 2010

Trip is limited to 30 pilgrims and is filling up fast.
Cost is $2,999 per person for this 12-day pilgrimage.

Are You Interested in Sponsoring a Youth Member for their 2010 Mission?

The Sacred Heart Youth Group will be attending Cortez, Colorado for their annual 2010 Youth Mission Trip. Their mission will be to help the UTE Indians. The cost to sponsor a child for this mission trip is $400 per child. If you are interested in sponsoring a child / (children) for the full amount or even a partial amount please contact the Youth group director Miss Eva Green at 658-7341.
